Edco Solitude 5 fly reel and spool NOS in gold
New old stock, Edco Solitude 5 fly reel, in gold, with standard arbor spool, plus one extra spool with standard arbor. These are from our recent purchase of the existing inventory of reels and parts from the Edco Solitude reels company. These were manufactured over 10 years ago and have been in storage ever since.
These were dramatically improved versions of the famed Harris Solitude. They are fully interchangeable between left and right hand retrieve. We will supply them with left hand retrieve, unless requested otherwise. Fully enclosed and sealed drag, and fully silent on both stripping and retrieval.
The size 5 was designed for weights 8 and larger lines. Exact capacity can be provided if needed. This size is the most versatile of all the Solitude reels, especially when combined with spools of various arbor sizes. Often used for Spey and heavy salt water applications, including billfish. We have multiple extra spools available in both arbor sizes and all three colors. Utilizing the different color spools to identify different line applications is often done. All size 5 spools are interchangeable on all size 5 reel bodies, regardless of arbor or color.
These are incredibly beautiful reels, individually serial numbered. Less than 700 reels in total were produced.
We do have the necessary tools needed should your reel ever need service or repair, plus a limited amount of replacement parts.
These gold reels are type II anodized with type III on the internal parts.
Comes with an original issue Solitude fleece pouch for the reel.
